  A Hands-On Virtual Experience!
  Explore textures, shapes, and sensations using simple items from home. This interactive online event encourages sensory exploration, creativity, and fun — all from the comfort of your space.

  As part of our ongoing efforts to create meaningful and engaging experiences for parents and their little ones, we will be sharing a few simple and fun sensory activities that support early development while encouraging parent-child bonding.

  Age range : 3 months - 3 years babies, parents and caregivers.

  Sensory play is more than just fun—it’s a crucial part of early development that encourages babies to explore the world around them. Through touch, sound, sight, and water play, babies begin to form connections, build motor skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.

  During this session, families will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of stations, including:

  Rice Shaker Instruments – Create music and rhythm together with handmade shakers

  Squishy Sensory Bags – Explore colour, shape, and texture through mess-free gel-filled bags

  Touch & Feel Fabric Boards – Let little fingers discover the difference between soft, rough, smooth, and bumpy textures

  Mirror Play – Encourage early self-awareness and bonding through facial expressions and mimicry

  Water Play Zone – Enjoy supervised water fun with floating toys that stimulate curiosity and delight

  Feeding & Sleep – Finding the Balance for Better Rest

  Are you feeling exhausted and wondering how to help your baby—and yourself—get better sleep? You’re not alone.

  Many parents face common challenges like:

  • A baby who only falls asleep while nursing or with a bottle

  • Short cat naps that never seem to refresh

  • Multiple night wakings that leave everyone drained

  • Needing to rock, hold, or drive their child just to get them to sleep

  • Dependence on soothers to get through the night

  In this informative session, we explored the powerful connection between infant feeding and sleep—and how one can directly impact the other. From feeding-to-sleep associations to how sleep routines affect the whole family's well-being, we unpacked it all.

  We also discussed simple, actionable sleep strategies you can start implementing right away, whether your baby is a newborn or several months old. Our goal? To empower you with tools and understanding so that everyone in your home can get some truly amazing, healthy rest.

  Because when baby sleeps better, the whole family thrives.

  About the Speaker
  Alanna McGinn is a sleep expert and enthusiast, as well as the founder of Good Night Sleep Site, the #1 sleep resource for those struggling to get a good night’s rest. She and her team of sleep consultants help individuals, families and corporations overcome their sleep challenges to wake up on the right side of the bed each day. She serves on the faculty of The Family Sleep Institute, is a certified Stress Management Coach, and hosts the ‘This Girl Loves Sleep’ and ‘The Bedtime Edit’ Podcast.   Sarain Fox is a storyteller and a parent, who felt an immediate connection to CYBEX Stroll Together. Having navigated the experience of raising a baby during the pandemic, she understands firsthand the vital role community plays during such a pivotal time. 

  But Sarain is so much more than a parent. As a dancer, choreographer, activist, television host, and filmmaker, she weaves together her creative talents to harness these diverse mediums to amplify Indigenous voices and foster meaningful dialogue between Indigenous and settler communities.

  She is a passionate advocate for meaningful representation, serving as a Nike N7 ambassador, a Canada Goose, Goose Person, and has also dedicated nearly a decade to collaborating with Manitobah Mukluks. Through her work, she has skillfully utilized Indigenous representation and narratives to showcase the rich tapestry of Indigenous fashion and expertise to a global audience. Sarain has also made many notable contributions to the screen, with credits including Rise (Viceland), Cut-Off (Viceland), APTN’s Future History, and her documentary film "Inendi" (CBC Gem, 2020) earning her a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Host or Interviewer in a News or Information Program. In 2024, Sarain won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Host or Interviewer, News or Information for VeraCity: Indigiqueer.   What is Flora’s Walk?

  Flora’s Walk is Canada’s largest perinatal mental health fundraiser taking place in over 50 cities across Canada. The event culminates in May, World Maternal Mental Health Month, where, after months of fundraising and planning, walks and events are held in cities across Canada throughout the month of May to call attention to the need for improved perinatal mental health care.

  Who was Flora?

  Flora’s Walk is named about Canadian mother, Flora, who tragically lost her life in 2022 to undetected and undiagnosed and untreated postpartum psychosis. We honour Flora and all those who have lost their lives to perinatal mental illness and fight for those struggling to receive care.

  The Impact of Flora’s Walk

  Since 2022, over 100 organizations who have received funds through Flora’s Walk have provided free to low cost support groups and therapy across Canada.

  In 2023, at Flora’s Walk in Ottawa on Parliament Hill, the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions announced funding to start work on Canada’s first ever clinical national guidelines for perinatal mental health.
