Jil will share her love for writing, and the critical way that writing proficiency impacts children as they learn and develop. She will explain strategies, resources, and tips for encouraging children to write, and ways to adjust your methods to create an environment in which writing thrives.

Jil completed her Bachelor of Arts and Education and went on to complete her Masters of Education at York University. Jil completed her PhD coursework in Literacy Education and was certified as a reading specialist. She owned and operated her own reading clinic in Edmonton, conducting Diagnostic Reading Assessments for the school board, and delivering reading remediation tutoring. She now has four children and loves to homeschool. Jil is also on staff as the director of Children’s Ministry at Redeemer City Church in Orillia. Jil has a great passion for literacy and is committed to equipping and encouraging families to share in that joy. To that end she posts daily @jil.koller, offering free reading, writing, and homeschool tips. Jil is also a Young Adult fiction author and is currently submitting her first book for publication.
