Parenting can be overwhelming sometimes- at every age of development, information is thrown our way and it is our job to navigate through it all. We receive pamphlets and handouts, we browse through information on social media platforms, other moms offer advice and as parents we need to sort through all this information and then apply it.
In Real Talk: Breaking the Myths about Speech, Language, and LIteracy Development, we will address common myths- Do boys really talk later than girls? Does a child who is late to talk ‘catch up’ to their peers? Does introducing baby sign help or hinder a child’s language development? Can a child start reading once they know all their letter sounds? Does baby talk inhibit language development? Does bilingualism cause language delays? and more! We will look at the developmental milestones and address these myths with the most up to date research!
