Parents as Partners: Emergent Reader

(Workshop recommended for PARENTS of children 2 to 3 years)

When do children typically become aware of print? When do they learn their ABCs? When do they learn to read? This workshop will review typical stages of development for children, pertaining to print awareness and reading. You will learn how to introduce print in a fun way, without putting pressure on their children to read before they are ready. We will look at environmental print and at children’s books where the text is presented in ways that interest pre-school children. We will look at a great collection of top-quality children’s books.
