Join us for an educational event focusing on the NICU experience and how to better support parents of preterm infants and those who have spent time in the NICU

Participants will:

  • Learn about the unique challenges of the Mental Health & the NICU experience and how interventions can directly impact mental health outcomes in parent and baby.
  •  Understand your role in supporting the parents of a child with a mental or physical health concerns. This session will also provide strategies and tools in helping parents of preterm infants to thrive.
  • Hear from parents about their experience in navigating the secret world of parenting preterm baby after being discharged from the hospital.
  • Learn about the common winter illnesses and how to build immunity and stay health all year long. 
  • Learn how to support new families to create a Healthy Start by learning about the common challenges parents face throughout the early years with a preterm baby.


Dr. Myroslava K. Romach 

Dr. Myroslava K. Romach is an authority on clinical psychopharmacology, a physician and industry executive, with more than 25 years experience in drug development in academic and industry settings. Presently the focus of her work is in maternal-child health, specifically maternal perinatal mental health and infant neurodevelopment.

Marianne Bracht

Marianne has 40 years of nursing experience in neonatology, as a bedside nurse, in the neonatal follow up clinic and last 15 years as the Mount Sinai NICU parent resource nurse as well as the RSV nurse coordinator. Through out her nursing career she has advocated for parents, provided education and support, created and co-led parent education programs. Her experience has given her insight into the struggles parents encounter in the NICU as well as following discharge.
