Parents as Partners - Focus on Fathers: Emergent Reader

Brought to you in partnership with Life With A Baby and EarlyON Child and Family Centre Thornhill.

(Workshop recommended for PARENTS of children 2 to 3 years)

When do children typically become aware of print? When do they learn their ABCs? When do they learn to read? This workshop will review typical stages of development for children, pertaining to print awareness and reading. Fathers will learn how to introduce print in a fun way, without putting pressure on their children to read before they are ready. We will look at environmental print and at children’s books where the text is presented in ways that interest pre-school children. We will look at a great collection of top-quality children’s books. Note – this program is designed for Dads and other significant male figures in your child’s life, but everyone is welcome to attend!

Please note the zoom link will be sent you with your confirmation email and again in your reminder email.

Note: To participate, you must have access to the internet and the most current version of Zoom.
