    Hi there,

My daughter just turned 5 months on Monday and I'm curious about starting solids. There is so much information out there now that it's hard to know what's best. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to go and get information from or has any suggestions of what worked well for you.

This is all so new to us! (Can you tell I'm a first time mom??)

    Thanks so much!

My baby started solids at 5 months (as recommended by our paediatrician). The doctor said it was okay to start him on solids as long as he can sit up with support and is able to grasp things with his hands.

I started with pureed butternut squash and carrots (both of which my baby hated!) and then bananas as well. He also hates those lol. He would only eat rice cereal and currently likes to eat pureed pears (he's 7 months now). He also likes eating pureed chicken and rice and basically eats this all the time now.

Start off with some fruits and vegetables and experiment. Hopefully, your baby won't be as picky as mine!
