York professional is a great resource. It will give you information on home daycare centres that are licenced and frequently checked in the Aurora area. The instituationalized daycare centres that York Professional run are unforunately a bit of a drive. They have two centres in Richmond hill. The processing one time fee to check into these centres is $50. The office is located on Yonge St. just south of Wellington. If you are commuting south for work this might be a good option. If money is tight I would not suggest going with York professional. York professional have set home daycare fees. You can find a registered in home daycare that will charge you less (about $10 less per day). I would also check out the government mandates of what to look for in a home and instituationalized daycare.
I would suggest viewing both styles of daycare (home and institutional) to decide which you feel most comfortable leaving your little one with. I have just placed my son in daycare and we also live in Aurora. Luckily, he just turned 18 months so my search was slightly different than yours. we decided on the Aurora Childrens Centre. Not only is it the closest to our house but it was to me the best of all the 10 places ++ I viewed. If you are traveling north, Newmarket (just off of main st.) had a fabulous institutional daycare and a great infant room. The facility has many resources and is not on a busy street, has security, on site prepared meals and the staff seemed friendly and have worked there at least 2 years ( low turn over). If you have yet to find a place, I can look it up and let you know what the name of it is. Good luck in your search! I hope this has helped!
