Changed to 1 nap!

My son is almost 23 months old.
We finally changed him to 1 nap (1:00).
It has been almost 3 weeks now and he is still getting so tired before his nap time and when he does go to sleep he only sleeps for an hour.

    Is this normal?
Anyone have any nap time story to share?

    Thanks

My girl is 8 months and she refuse to nap at all in the morning, maybe 10 minutes, and she naps at 1:00 for 1 1/2 hours.  I think every child is different and has different sleep patterns.  What works for you is what you should stick with!

You may want to try and move the naptime a bit earlier if he's not sleeping long enough.  I've read that if babies/toddlers are put down when they're overtired, they have a fitful and less restful sleep and sometimes that can mean they wake up quicker.

I have a 3 year old who clung to his two naps until he had to go to daycare and it was a struggle at home to get  him to stay awake... but we made sure that he didn't stay up past the magic window of non-overtiredness time.

We got him settled on a 12noon naptime and (still!) it's anywhere from 1.5-2 hours.
