Does your toddler/pre-schooler still nap?

My three year old still has her afternoon nap in daycare, and at home (well, whenever we can get her to do so). And depending what time she goes down, she can still sleep a good two hours or more. However, it does take some cajoling, and a few other tricks to convince her to take a nap. And if she can't sleep, there is still the mandatory "quiet time".

Does your toddler or pre-schooler nap during the day? What kind of routine do you follow? What tips can you give to moms who have a difficult time getting their kids to nap (other than giving them a ride in the car? :-)

My 19-month old naps well at daycare, but just does not want to sleep when she's at home on the weekends. (Obviously) it's too early for her to drop her nap, but I'm really struggling to get her to sleep - it's like she does not want to miss out on any time with mom and dad.

Yes, a drive in the car does sometimes work (ironic to me, since this was the baby who absolutely *hated* the car as an infant), but a walk around the block helps, too.

I'm also looking for tips and suggestions!

Hi - as with the other comments, my 3 year old naps well at day care, although they tell me that she has to be put away from any distractions. At home the naps arent so good so i try and follow what they do at day care. i put her in her room and remove as many distractions as possible. i am afraid to say that i also have to sometimes use 'threats' - as in, if you dont nap then we wont go to the park. that doesnt always work either. Failing  naps i do insist that she stays in her room for at least an hour for quiet time... i know soon her naps will be over - boo hoo. thanks Jenn
