Life With A Baby is all about offering real help to parents just like you. Our events and series are fun ways for expectant, new, and seasoned parents to walk this journey called parenthood together - because it’s better with a village!

Seminars and resources to help you be the parent you want to be - on your terms.

Mom-to-Mon Peer Support

In short, women supporting women. Join in to connect with other moms navigating motherhood and everything in-between.

Infant/Child CPR

Learn crucial lifesaving CPR techniques and safety fundamentals for the babies and children in your care.

NICU Preterm Program

A support network for families of preterm infants as you transition from the NICU to the first months at home.

  • Postpartum Depression & Anxiety Support Group - Virtual

    For mothers and birthing people in Ontario & British Columbia. 

    This is a group for mothers who are looking to connect with other moms. It can be helpful for those currently dealing with symptoms of postpartum depression/anxiety including low mood, irritability, crying, difficulty eating/sleeping, intrusive thoughts etc. This group will give you the opportunity to connect with other women and get support and education regarding postpartum mood, as well as strategies for coping, resources and referrals.

    Note that this is a therapeutic group. An intake will be conducted by our therapist for all those interested in participating to ensure the right fit for group therapy. 

    Please only sign up if you are able to attend all sessions. There is a fee for this program, but we are providing it free to members who need it. The supportive group environment works best with everyone attending each session. 
    The group will once a week from Monday, February 23 to Monday, March 30.

    This group does have some exclusions, where it is not a great fit for those who are experiencing severe PMADs, or those who are experiencing acute crisis.

    All materials will be provided. High chairs are available but feel free to bring a blanket or mat to sit on. Please note the restaurant cannot guarantee a peanut-free environment. They kindly ask not to bring in outdoor food or drinks with the exception of baby food.
    Free regular coffee or tea is available at the Swedish restaurant when you sign up for the free Ikea Family membership.

    Fiona Bergin is the founder of Sleep Train with Confidence and a certified pediatric sleep consultant (IPSP) with a Master of Science degree from the University of Toronto.

    As a mom of two, she combines evidence-based strategies with real-life experience to help families build healthy, sustainable sleep habits. Using her signature R.E.S.T. framework, she empowers parents to feel confident and in control of their child’s sleep.

    For mothers and birthing people in Ontario & British Columbia. 

    This is a group for mothers who are looking to connect with other moms. It can be helpful for those currently dealing with symptoms of postpartum depression/anxiety including low mood, irritability, crying, difficulty eating/sleeping, intrusive thoughts etc. This group will give you the opportunity to connect with other women and get support and education regarding postpartum mood, as well as strategies for coping, resources and referrals.

    Note that this is a therapeutic group. An intake will be conducted by our therapist for all those interested in participating to ensure the right fit for group therapy. 

    Please only sign up if you are able to attend all sessions. There is a fee for this program, but we are providing it free to members who need it. The supportive group environment works best with everyone attending each session. 
    The group will once a week from Monday, April 13 to Monday, May 25. 
    PLEASE NOTE - THERE WILL NOT BE A CLASS ON MONDAY MAY 18TH.

    This group does have some exclusions, where it is not a great fit for those who are experiencing severe PMADs, or those who are experiencing acute crisis.

    Enjoy a simple, hands-on nature activity for caregivers and babies as you create your own eco-friendly seed bombs together. All materials are provided, and you’ll go home with a tray of finished seed bombs.

    A seed bomb is a small ball made from recycled paper pulp and seeds that support local pollinators. The paper protects the seeds until they’re ready to grow, and once placed on the ground, it breaks down and sprouts into flowers.

    Take your seed bombs home and toss them anywhere flowers are needed —gardens, bare patches of soil, or outdoor spaces that could use a little extra life.

    Cost: $10 cash or e-transfer when you arrive

    This group hopes to support those who feel more isolated due to a non-traditional family structure or any other reason.

    The group is focused on bringing awareness to why many families feel they do not fit “inside the box” and provide a space to support those outside of the box to feel mentally well and embraced within their community.

    What is Flora’s Walk?

    Flora’s Walk is Canada’s largest perinatal mental health fundraiser taking place in over 50 cities across Canada. The event culminates in May, World Maternal Mental Health Month, where, after months of fundraising and planning, walks and events are held in cities across Canada throughout the month of May to call attention to the need for improved perinatal mental health care.

    Who was Flora?

    Flora’s Walk is named about Canadian mother, Flora, who tragically lost her life in 2022 to undetected and undiagnosed and untreated postpartum psychosis. We honour Flora and all those who have lost their lives to perinatal mental illness and fight for those struggling to receive care.

    The Impact of Flora’s Walk

    Since 2022, over 100 organizations who have received funds through Flora’s Walk have provided free to low cost support groups and therapy across Canada.

    In 2023, at Flora’s Walk in Ottawa on Parliament Hill, the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions announced funding to start work on Canada’s first ever clinical national guidelines for perinatal mental health.
