Happy Talk Sing and Sign Class - Hamilton

This program is a joyful, music-and‐language enrichment class designed especially for babies and toddlers (typically from about 4 months up to 2 years, depending on the location).

The class integrates:

• singing children’s songs and exploring new melodies,

• learning and using baby signs (i.e., simple signs to help babies communicate before full speech) such as for routines like diapering, bath time, meals, car rides, etc.

• sensory play and gross-motor activities, and high-energy, playful interaction between caregivers and children (to support bonding plus early language development),

• embedding language learning into everyday routines — not requiring extra “therapeutic time” but building on what you already do (routine + repetition + connection) for natural learning,

• a bonding experience with your little one and time to create a community with other parents & caregivers

Brittannie Jespersen, Speech-Language Pathologist/Happy Talk Instructor:

Brittannie graduated from the MSc Speech-Language Pathology program at McMaster University.

Her clinical experience spans children (articulation, language, literacy, social communication, AAC) and adults (voice, cognitive communication, swallowing).

She also has a background in singing and professional vocals — so she brings that creative, musical dimension into her therapy sessions when relevant.

Brittannie lives in Mount Hope with her family and her wolf-dog Bailey. She enjoys being crafty, loves music and movies, outdoor activities in all seasons, travel, and trying new foods/experiences.

Allison Fox, B.A.(Hons), Communication Disorders Assistant/Happy Talk Instructor:

Allison holds a Bachelor’s (Honours) in Linguistics – Communication Disorders Stream from Brock University, and a postgraduate certificate as a Communication Disorders Assistant (CDA).

She has nearly 19 years’ experience working with neurological injury and differences, and a particular interest in language and building AAC (augmentative and alternative systems).

Allison has been in many different plays and musical theatre productions. She is a trained vocalist with a beautiful voice!

Ideal Age Range:

4 months to 24 months

A play date both mom and baby can enjoy.

Whether you’re manifesting personal goals, dreaming up new intentions, or focusing on parenting-related growth, this is your chance to create a visual guide for the year ahead—while connecting with other moms in a relaxed, baby-friendly space.

We’ll spend the first hour crafting our vision boards, followed by time for the little ones to explore a really cute play space that’s safe, bright, clean, and designed for kids to play, discover, and make new friends. It’s the perfect setting to come and go with your little one and still enjoy a peaceful, creative morning.

All crafting supplies will be provided, and Happy Planet has generously supplied coffee, water, and gift bags for all attending kids.

Join Swim Time for a special 30-minute baby swim class and 15-minute circle time before the class! 

Cost: FREE! 
Time: 11am-12pm

Ideal age range - 4 months to 2 years

Class Description - A rewarding water experience for adults with young children. It introduces infants and toddlers to the joys of water activity while developing basic skills and teaches parents/caregivers how to ensure safety at all times. The Swim for Success Tadpoles program consists of 3 parented levels (TP1, TP2, and TP3) designed to build a baby's comfort in the water. Parents are guided through a series of activities, basic skills and learn about creating safe aquatic environments for their little ones.

All children under the age of 4 or not toilet trained must wear an approved elasticized legged swim diaper. No disposable diapers are permitted. No exceptions. They are available for purchase at the front desk for $20 or bring your own if you already have one.

All participants are required to create an account and agree to our policies and procedures. Link will be provided after registration.

Holiday Home Safety: Childproofing Tips, CPR & Choking Skills for Parents

From holiday hazards to everyday emergencies, we’ve got you covered!

Join our hands-on webinar to gain practical safety skills every parent needs. Bring a doll or teddy bear and follow along with Red Cross training partner Amanda Farris as she demonstrates how to help a choking infant or child and how to perform CPR.

About Your Facilitator: Amanda Farris

Amanda brings over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, including more than 8 years working in hospital and clinical settings. She holds degrees in environmental medicine and health science, an MBA in technology management, and has completed graduate-level coursework at Johns Hopkins University in health policy and healthcare informatics.

Amanda is also the founder and CEO of Medics Camp, a STEM.org-accredited program that gives children aged 5-12 the chance to “be doctors for a week.” Under Amanda’s leadership, Medics Camp has been recognised among the top 10% of STEM accredited programs worldwide. As a committed social entrepreneur, Amanda believes in empowering communities whether through first aid training for new parents, health education programs for charities, or inspiring children to explore medical science and help others.

Join the coaches at Fight Fitness for a 45-minute kickboxing class and Shirley - LWAB Toronto CM - for a post-class circle time!  

This class is a full-body workout that engages the core, legs, arms, chest, and back muscles. It helps strengthen and tone muscles that may have weakened or stretched during pregnancy. Bring your energy and good vibes for a fun workout!

We'll walk around, stopping where/when the group wants. 

Everyone is welcome and the walk is completely stroller friendly. It is an easy, relaxed way to get moving and enjoy a calm morning with other families.
