Where do you find a good babysitter for evenings out?

    I have always used my family members for babysitting, but recently we have had family outings such as weddings and dinners for special occassions.  Because I have only used family for babysitting, either my husband or I have had to stay home.

    These family outings have become more frequent, so I think it is time to find a babysitter for these occassions. 

    I have no idea where to start.  Does anyone have a good babysitter in the Markham area that they can recommend, or know of where I can look for one.  I was thinking of a high school student or college student.

    I know a girl, she works at a daycare centre.  If it's at nighttime you would have to pick her up and drop her home.  She does babysitting by word of mouth only (clients from daycare).  Apparently lots of people are comfortable with her because she gets recommended a lot.  I'll ask her if she would do it for you as she lives in Markham.

    PS. our next family function is THIS WEEKEND!!!  I have been trying to find a sitter for 2 weeks now.  I thought I found one, but I was notified today that she has had a family emergency and will be out of town.
