Connie Butera is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and member of The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO); currently finishing her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Under the supervision of Kristen Drozda of Pace Counselling, Connie is happy to offer counselling appointments during her practicum placement at Life With A Baby Inc.; a charitable organization supporting mothers with mild to moderate perinatal mood disorders.

Connie's specific focus is on supporting the family unit as a whole. Her experience lies on working with individuals struggling with the various perinatal mood disorders (PMAD's, PPD),  postpartum stress, anxiety and emotional dysregulation.  Connie has completed additional training in PMADs via Postpartum Support International.

As a special needs parent herself, parent mentor with The Children's Treatment Network and having completed an additional Certificate in Autism via Kerry's Place Autism Services, Connie's offers further focus and personal experience in supporting families of children on the Autism Spectrum and with ADHD.

Connie understands that each individuals needs are completely unique, and so she strives to honour and appreciate whatever avenue of care is required; based on their unique and individual experiences. As such, Connie works with her clients to provide a collaborative experience that will facilitate a therapeutic approach that works best for you! Connie's overall approach to her work is very person- centered (PCT), Solution Focused (SFT) and Emotion Focused (EFT); however she draws from various other modalities in her work where required; such as CBT.

In her free time, Connie enjoys spending time with her large blended family or up at her trailer listing to country music in Muskoka; enjoying the outdoors.
